There are numerous opportunities for Ilwaco's visitors to explore the arts, crafts, and culture of this expanding arts community.
Discover Historic Ilwaco. Founded in 1848, we are home to many 19th century buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, as well as the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum. Located in the heart of downtown Ilwaco, it is home to a compelling collection of artifacts that describe the historical and cultural background of Ilwaco and the whole Columbia Pacific Region. The museum's recently opened Memorial Park and historic garden features artwork by celebrated local artist Renee O'Connor.
Discover Lewis and Clark. The documented Discovery Trail passes directly through the city and forms a permanant connection to the newly designated Lewis and Clark National Historic Park.
Ilwaco is a Centennial Mural City with five murals located downtown that depict the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Region.
World renowned artist Maya Lin's recently completed Confluence Project at Cape Disappointment State Park is not to be missed.
The Saturday Market at the Port of Ilwaco from May until October is also a must-see. The market attracts numerous vendors including many arts and crafts from throughout the region. During the summer months our galleries and merchants host our hugely popular "art walks." It's a great opportunity to see new work.
