How long have you been a Councilman?
Forever. Actually I was appointed to the council in 1986. Counting a short hiatus the total is somewhere around 19 years.

What impact would you like to have on the city?
Ilwaco is my home and the home of my neighbors. The impact I intend to have includes preservation of the neighborhood and community atmosphere, while encouraging sustainable growth appropriate to the community.

Are there any projects or accomplishments you are particularly proud of?
The Indian Creek Water Plant, the sewer upgrade and assisting Noreen Robinson in completing her dream of the Ilwaco Heritage Musem.

Are you optimistic about the city's future?
Absolutely! Having lived and worked in Ilwaco since the 1970’s, I have experienced the economic ups and the downs and learned to adapt to trends. Ilwaco is continuing in that process and moving forward as a result. Change is not easy, but it can make one stronger!

What can residents and merchants do to help?
“Helping” can be a simple and as important as cleaning up your property and putting your right foot forward. Be involved – just be keeping your home and property spruced up and clean, or by volunteering with the merchants association, city government, the fire department, or other similar endeavors.
